Hmm, I feel a bit nervous...
I separated from my husband four months ago after twenty years of marriage. I'm still one foot on the 'cycle of abuse', but with the support of a domestic abuse adviser that I met for the first time last week, I'm trusting that I'll get the other foot off as soon as.
I shall spend some time getting to know this forum before I post again, but just wanted to say 'Hi', and I'm relieved to know that there are a group of people out there experiencing the same sort of thing that I have been. I've been feeling quite lonely and confused by my situation.
Anyway, onward and upwards as they say...

Hey tolitha,
A warm welcome and we are very glad to hear you find reading other entries here helpful and supportive! Anytime you feel like sharing what you are comfortable with, we are here.
I have been with the board for over five years and steve and lindsay (who started the website and owns it) who stop by frequently, for many years even before that.
It is very natural to feel alone and confused after leaving an abuser. It is OK to feel whatever comes up and I am very happy to hear you have found a great domestic abuse adviser in your area!

Hi Tolitha..I too am new and I just hope you continue in your process to go forward. Coming to this website is something I do frequently and it helps me so much just to see that I am not alone, I am not crazy in my thinking, and how my ex treated me was indeed VERY real. Best of luck to you and that other foot...when you are comfortable it too will come out and help you go forward. Sometimes we take a few steps forward and then a step back..that is progress, but the people here are very helpful and the resources are very good. Janine knows what she is talking about...I continue to take steps forward and occasionally a step back..but that is ok...it is working for me and you too will find what works for you!
