New domestic violence story on Hidden Hurt: What is Normal?"What’s normal? My daughter eats smash, gravy, and cabbage for breakfast. Is that weird? No, she does it all the time, we’ve become used to it, and it’s part of our routine. If you live long enough with the abnormal, it becomes normal. ..."

Fabulous article. I loved the not peeing example. When we were anywhere in public, if I went to pee, he would disappear, just abandon me. I would come out, and he'd be long gone. Passive aggressive jerk. I was left hanging, knowing that if I went looking for him or left the spot that there would be hell to pay. I felt so pathetic. So... I held it. On long bicycle rides through the French countryside, I held it or made him stop so I could go in the bushes. Then, he hung around.
Ugh. Theresa
