Hi everyone,I left a 3 yr abusive relationship almost a yr ago. I've suffered from ptsd, panic attacks, agoraphobia, and just plain lack of enjoying anything in life. Ive read so much on the subject I know its not me. I have 4 grown kids 15 g~kigs & 1great g~kid I only knew love up til then, it was a major shock and I cant snap out of it.ya'll are the only ones who understand what it feels like. Im getting a little better but I have issues. I look forward to learning and communicating with everyone.

Hey Denise,
Welcome here! This forum has been a major support in my way out of abuse and for many other former victims of abuse as well....
What you are experiencing after the abusive relationship is very common and we all can relate I guess....the PTSD for sure can cause depressive phases and the soul needs time to heal.. Did you find maybe seeking a professional counselor could help? I got therapy for a few months after I left because I had trouble controlling my PTSD symptoms and it helped me so much. Also talking to other women who got out helped. There are a few good books on the market too- one I really like and that my counselor recommended was " Invisible Heroes" by Belleruth Naparstek. It helps to understand you are only reacting in a NORMAL way to a very not - normal experience. Hang in there....we are glad you found this site and everyone here has a story of two to relate to your feelings I bet
