Hey everyone,
Please find above a link to a free 'Webinar' exploring trauma and recovery.
I found it very interesting, and the authors mention Belleruth Naparstek 'Guided Imagery' - of which I am a huge fan. I should add a 'trigger warning' for anyone who is currently experiencing PTSD-- as the Webinar of course mentions examples of experiences of trauma survivors etc., and unless you feel safe and comfortable watching such an information seminar, I would not watch it. PTSD is so complex, and for some maybe even reading books by Lundy Bancroft etc. can be tough to digest-- as much as I believe in their healing potential.
I hope everyone has a safe and happy Thanksgiving!

So glad you posted this webinar Janine! It is very helpful because I just began reading Van Der Kolk and he is so on point with his theory regarding how the "Body Keeps The Score" when you have been traumatised so intensely (in my case decades) by a targeting socipath (well in my case more than one) the process of trying to heal is difficult due to the current modalities being inadequate at addressing the core of the problem. One could be sitting in a therapeutic environment. And yet floods of horrible thoughts and memories can come in like a storm. Because the 2 sides of the brain are disconnected and you are no longer responding to the calm environment, but instead the person is responding to the trauma directly as though its being experienced like its new and just happened. This is - and I do agree here- something happening in the brain. (possibly because he/she was unable to process it properly at the time when the events were unrolling, when the brain was taking in the traumatic experiences. this is a very important point to adress so that folks dealing with CPTSD can finally acquire genuine assistance for the challenges and overcome them successfully.
