I'm jumping up and down right now! I got a call from probation this afternoon. My ex was arrested Saturday night after causing trouble in a bar. Misdemeanor destruction of property and simple assault. And then, a gun was found in her car! She was sentenced last November to 18 months (suspended after 6) for stalking, attempted kidnapping and assault on me. She served the six months and then was put on probation for a year. If she violated any of the terms of the probation, she'd have to serve the remaining year. The destruction of property and assault would have almost certainly been enough on their own, but having a gun--unquestionably a violation. She's going back to jail until at least next May! I'm so happy, I don't even know what to do with myself now!

Oh man, that is SUCH good news!!! I am so glad this happened and you have a ton of time now to breathe, rebuild your own strength and take additional precautions for when she does get out again. I am also glad this happened around other people who pressed charges, as now it is not only crimes against you, but others. Any judge will see the seriousness of this and maybe she stays even longer than that. I am so happy for you!!!! Big sigh and relief and maybe once she is locked up for sure go home to visit your family or have them come up for a bit to celebrate having your freedom back

Congrats Faith!
Wow! She had a gun while on parole? She is seriously crazy person. Let's hope that the year in jail makes her reflect and look for the psychological help that she obviously needs or at least cures her of her obsession with stalking you.
I agree with Janine and Dianem. Use this time well to get the mental and physical help that you need.
I remember that my old University used to have free Self-defense classes. I took a couple and I found them very empowering and great to build my confidence. Maybe you have something similar there?
